One Republic in Europe

April 19 to 21, 2022

A quick trip to Europe to see my wife's favorite band as they start their world tour. We ate lunch while watching laden vessels strain against the current on the Rhine at Dusseldorf.

The next morning, we missed our connection in Cologne due to our train being late. So we explored the 13th century cathedral nearby. The structure survived the bombings of World War 2, but the modern-looking stained glass suggested that the windows did not.

We arrived at the concert venue early enough to be on the fence line, stage right.

Our flight home included a 5 1/2 layover at Heathrow. There is a small village (Longford) a short distance from Terminal 5, where we sat outside and enjoyed lunch on a sunny and warm spring day.
